Beyoncé Giselle Knowles

Beyoncé had her early experiences in dancing and singing as she was a little child. She was born in Texas to a professional record manager, Mathew Knowles and a costume designer and hair stylist, Tina Knowles. Beyoncé took various classes in ballet and jazz where her talent was discovered. She also participated in a talent show, singing John Lennon’s “Imagine”, which brought her victory.
She did not start her career as a solo artist. In the late 1990s she became a part of the trio “Destiny’s Child” along with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. They won their first Grammy Award which brought the group an international fame. Although, this professional path was quite successful Beyoncé’s personal life wasn’t. Her long time boyfriend left her and she sank into a deep depression for a couple of years. She admitted that after becoming famous it was very hard for her to trust people and find new friends.
Though “Destiny’s Child” proved to be one of the most successful female groups of all time, in 2001 the girls went separate ways and Beyoncé started her solo career. She released her first solo album “Dangerously in love” in 2003.
Her music style is mixed with pop, soul, hip hop, funk, her voice is mezzo-soprano. She says that her songs are autobiographical, they reflect her personal experiences with people around. Beyoncé is famous for being very expressive on the stage, her performances are often very emotional and some people even criticise her style. It doesn’t really matter for her fans, though. She is so admired because of the way she sings and dances. In many interviews Beyoncé admits that her career demands constant training in order to be able to stay in form for the stage. She must exercise a lot and eat healthily. She could be described as a workaholic.
Beyoncé’s album “I’ am… Sasha Fierce” (2008) broke the record for winning most Grammy Awards in one night won by a female artist. She received six Grammy Awards then. In 2011 she released her fourth solo album “4”
Beyoncé also introduced a fashion line “House of Deréon” in 2005 as a tribute to her grandmother, who was a seamstress. She also involved in charity work and acting: “Dreamgirls” (2006), “Austin Powers in Goldmember” (2002) and other projects.
In 2012 she an her husband Jay-Z became parents of a daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
One of the things this unique singer can be really admire for is that despite her constant hard work on the stage she doesn’t do any drugs and alcohol. Beyoncé said that it was one of her main promises to herself because she knows that the beginning of drugs might soon become the end of the career and life.
